The Kyrgyz Republic’s liberal business environment, abundant labour and natural resources make it an attractive destination for investors looking to expand their business in Central Asia.
The country is a member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and other regional cooperation bodies, facilitating its interactions with other member states and potential investors. Located between China, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, the Kyrgyz Republic has a strong interest in connecting regional investors and facilitating cross-border cooperation on the development of transport infrastructure, water and energy resources.
The Kyrgyz Republic’s private-sector companies have been able to attract significant foreign direct investment in sectors such as natural resources, textiles, food and agriculture, education and, most recently, information technology (IT).
