Connecting worlds: how the EBRD fosters community collaboration for positive change
From Max Saakyan
Since 2013, the EBRD’s Civil Society Engagement team has catalysed cooperation, fostering ties with our most essential partner: the communities where we invest in changing lives. From youth to indigenous groups, workers to gender advocates, we champion inclusivity. Yet barriers persist.
The EBRD relies on and engages with civil society organisations, our vital allies in bridging the gap. In the CSO Programme at the Annual Meeting, join us in celebrating the tangible impact of civil society engagement on the EBRD and communities, in four key areas: partnerships, projects, consultations and problem-solving.
Distinguished representatives and experts from civil society and the private sector, alongside international organisations, will join this open panel to share invaluable insights and experiences. The discussions will explore:
- the EBRD’s partnership with private sector philanthropy, driving policy advocacy and capacity building to promote a civic space in the EBRD’s southern and eastern Mediterranean region
- efforts to promote the economic integration of Ukrainian refugees in Poland
- an evaluation of the public participation process for and the outcomes of the Yerevan Green City Action Plan
- initiatives to bolster the development outcomes of private-sector investment in Georgia through multi-stakeholder capacity building.
Speakers:
- Alan Rousso, Independent International Professional
- Saba Almubaslat, Director of MENA, Ford Foundation
- Astghine Pasoyan, Executive Director, Energy Saving Foundation
- Igor Janke, Executive Director, Energy Saving Foundation
- Mark Bowman, Vice President, Policy & Partnerships, EBRD
